I got one of the stuck cage nuts that holds my car's body to frame off. Do I need to make a new cage or can I just weld the nut to the body instead?

I tend to favor re-caging or otherwise restoring the ability to move to the nut. It's more critical in a lot of cases than you'd think - not only for lineup ease improvement, but subtle ability to change angle and thus not short-change your bolts.
Granted, if the car's very solid, you may line up the same way every time, but it's not worth the hassle if it doesn't.

Thanks! That makes sense. Looks like I will have to build some cages then.
